Shallow?
May 21, 2009
Someone posted something shallow to one of the mailinglists I am in. The sudden urge of wanting to write a feedback appeared, but I pushed the pause button, reflected, and brushed the urge away.
Who am I to decide on what is shallow and what is not?

You don’t have to have the rights to decide what is shallow or what is deep to be able to state your opinion.
I am impulsive. Chances are if I felt the urge to write, to say something, I would succumb to the instinctive reminder to reflect, and construct carefully. Sometimes I paused, usually I don’t need to. However, I don’t often pause, reflect, and leave the field. Although I feel the need to. So far, saying things ‘with impulsive reflection’ has always worked well for me, most of the time.
Nevertheless, it is always prudent to use one’s better judgment to decide whether to continue or not, instead of some dogged persistence to proceed simply because one has started, simply because one wants to. After all, the Prophet tells us to speak good or remain quiet.
Peace.

true but our conscience might differ. i think a discussion on shallow-ism wouldn’t hurt.
