“Najib Abdul Razak, Malaysia’s prime minister, earlier said his government was powerless to stop the planned protests as long as protesters did not leave their mosques.”- Al-Jazeera
Com on now. You could have done better to mitigate the tension but you obviously didn’t. Instead, you opt to fuel the fire. We, the rakyat, had the luxury of being sprayed by acidic water and tear gases just few months back for rallying on the street against ISA and PPSMI, but why not today? Why not in this case, when ISA and FRU are far more relevant as tool against national chaos, unlike the ‘harm’ may caused by anti-PPSMI rally.
Maybe because you did condone the protest in the first place. Now, after few churches have been set on fire, you start to think that you might have gone a bit too far, right? Or this is actually how you wish things to be in the first place?
Hishamuddin again denied he and the PM had condoned the planned demonstrations.
“We never said that the demonstration could go on, do not put words in my mouth,” he said.- The Malaysian Insider
I reserve my opinion until further investigations are made on these incidents.
However, to let Najib off the hook is something far from my consideration. He has to be bold and take responsibility over what he has said prior to the Friday rally.
